In May 2024, the overall progress assessment in this area was 1.45, which dropped by 1.4 points compared to April 2024. Nevertheless, the assessment remains positive and has increased by 0.71 points compared to the beginning of monitoring in September 2023.

The expert assessment in May 2024 was formed based on the following components. “Actual legislative changes” and “Planned legislative changes” were rated at 1.42 and 0.81, respectively, which are lower than the April 2024 figures of 1.85 and 1.56, respectively. The level of legislative changes is associated with reduced legislative activity in this area in May.

The state of implementation was rated at 1.24 in May, compared to 1.56 in April.

At the same time, the assessment of “Agenda formation” significantly improved, reaching 1.36 compared to “0” in the previous month. This increase was driven by the adoption of documents that are strategic for advancing Ukraine’s European integration in this area.
